How we calculate it, and sources

Each bar shows how many of Prague’s 112 neighbourhoods this one beats: a full bar is the best in Prague, the vertical mark is the Prague middle. For rent, travel and noise less is better, for parks, shops and services more. The numbers are the same as further down the page and in the “Good for…” profiles.

Rent without services and energy for an unfurnished flat older than 5 years in good condition, without a balcony or parking, from rental offers. Monthly = price per m² × the usual size of rented flats in Prague. Actual rents differ by condition, furnishing and floor. (2+kk = two rooms and a kitchenette.)

How we calculate it, and sources

A typical trip from an address in the neighbourhood: walk to the best stop and on by public transport arriving at Můstek between 7:30 and 8:30, without waiting for the first connection. Calculated from the PID timetables.

At night we calculate the trip from Lazarská (where the night trams meet) leaving between 0:30 and 1:30 on a weeknight, including waiting for the connection (night lines run every 20 to 30 minutes) and the walk home. The metro doesn’t run at night.

Parks, forests and greenery are counted from the neighbourhood’s area by current land use, the distance to a park or forest as the crow flies as the median over the neighbourhood’s addresses. We take the noise at the loudest point within 20 m of the address, usually the street-facing façade.

A private practice doesn’t mean paid care: most have contracts with the health insurance companies. The register doesn’t say which practices have a contract with your insurer, check with the practice or the insurer.

We count the places where care is provided (practice, polyclinic, hospital), not individual doctors, per 1,000 residents of the 2021 census. We can’t count paediatricians per child for a neighbourhood, you’ll find them for the district.
