From what age can my child go to kindergarten?
Kindergarten is usually from three, at the earliest from two. Priority goes to children who turn three by 31 August 2027 (born by 31 Aug 2024) and live in the catchment area.
Is kindergarten compulsory?
In the last year before school, yes: children who turn five by 31 August 2027 must attend, or be educated individually as the law allows. They have priority at their catchment kindergarten.
Does my child have to be vaccinated?
A kindergarten admits children with the compulsory vaccinations, or with proven immunity or a contraindication. This does not apply to children in compulsory pre-school education.
How do I find the catchment kindergarten?
The city district’s ordinance sets the catchment kindergarten by the address of permanent residence. On Městomat you find it by entering the address, together with the catchment primary school.
