In Brno-sever the register lists 30 GPs. 29 of the 30 places whose contracts we know have a contract with a health insurer: 28 with VZP, 29 with ČPZP and 25 with VoZP. One place has no contract with any of these three insurers: if you’re insured with one of them, you pay for the care there yourself. In all of Brno there are 232 GPs; of the places whose contracts we know, 93 % have a VZP contract.

Which GP in Brno-sever has a VZP contract?
28 of the 30 places whose contracts we know have a VZP contract for this specialty. They are marked as contracted, and each shows its ČPZP and VoZP contracts too. We don’t show the other insurers’ contracts yet (OZP, ZPMV, RBP and Zaměstnanecká pojišťovna Škoda); check those with the practice.
How do I register with a GP in Brno-sever?
Pick a practice with a contract with your health insurer and arrange it with them, best by phone. When they take you, the doctor fills in a registration form you sign. They may refuse you only for lawful reasons: taking you would exceed a reasonable workload (full capacity), you live too far away for home visits, or they have no contract with your insurer. They must give you the reason in writing.
How do I change my GP?
Your GP, paediatrician, dentist and gynaecologist (the “registering” doctors) can be changed once every 3 months under the public health insurance act. Just register with the new one; they ask the previous doctor for your records.
What if no GP in Brno-sever will take me?
Contact your health insurer: it must make insured care available within set travel and waiting times, and it will help you find a doctor who takes you. Also try practices a bit further from home.

We count places where care is given (practices, polyclinics, hospitals), not individual doctors; one place can have several specialties. The register doesn’t say whether a doctor takes new patients.
Contracted = the practice has a contract for that specialty with a health insurer and insurance pays for the care; we name the insurers from the lists published by VZP, ČPZP and VoZP. No contract = no insurer has a contract with it and you pay yourself. A practice without a label works with an insurer that doesn’t publish a list (OZP, ZPŠ, ZPMV or RBP); check the contract with them.
