Frequently asked questions
When is kindergarten enrolment in 2027?
From 15 Mar 2027 to 15 Apr 2027. The Education Act sets this period from 2026; each kindergarten announces the exact days together with its founder.
From what age can my child go to kindergarten?
Kindergarten is usually from three, at the earliest from two. Priority goes to children who turn three by 31 August 2027 (born by 31 Aug 2024) and live in the catchment area.
Is kindergarten compulsory?
In the last year before school, yes: children who turn five by 31 August 2027 must attend, or be educated individually as the law allows. They have priority at their catchment kindergarten.
Does my child have to be vaccinated?
A kindergarten admits children with the compulsory vaccinations, or with proven immunity or a contraindication. This does not apply to children in compulsory pre-school education.
How do I find the catchment kindergarten?
The City of Plzeň sets nursery school catchment areas by ordinance, by permanent address. A catchment area is a whole city district (Černice belongs to Plzeň 2; Křimice, Radčice and Malesice share one), so any nursery school run by the city in yours admits you with priority while it has places.
