How do I find the catchment school?
The City of Plzeň sets catchment areas by ordinance, by permanent address. A catchment area is a whole city district, so any primary school run by the city in your district admits you with priority while it has places. Černice belongs to Plzeň 2; Křimice, Litice, Radčice, Malesice and Lhota to Plzeň 3.
Does the catchment school have to accept my child?
Children with permanent residence in the catchment area have priority until the school is full. You can also apply to other schools, which admit by criteria published before the zápis.
How does a deferral of school attendance work?
The parent asks for it at the zápis, with recommendations from a school counselling centre and a specialist doctor or clinical psychologist. The additional deferral during the first year no longer exists since September 2025.
Can I apply to several schools?
Yes. If more of them accept your child, choose one and let the others know so the place goes to another child.
