Štýřice

A neighbourhood across the Svratka south of the centre, around Vojtova street and the Ústřední hřbitov central cemetery, with the river embankment. New development is going up alongside the older apartment blocks. It suits people who want to live close to the centre and the river and don't mind a neighbourhood that is changing.

Staré Brno

A neighbourhood around Mendlovo náměstí with the Augustinian abbey where Gregor Mendel did his experiments, and the Starobrno brewery. Špilberk rises right above it; across the river it borders Pisárky and the exhibition centre. It suits people who want to live in historic streets within reach of the centre.

Which to choose

Look at the rows of the table that matter most to you:

  • You want to get to the centre quickly: the rows with the trip to the centre by day and at night.
  • You want shops and places around: the rows with restaurants and shops within 500 metres.
  • You want quiet and green space: the rows with noise, parks and green space.
  • You have children: the rows with schools and playgrounds, and the catchment school of the exact address.
  • Price decides: the first row of the comparison and the guide on how much rent costs in Brno.

Staré Brno is compared with its other neighbour in the guide Veveří or Staré Brno.

Before you sign a lease, check the flat itself: two addresses in the same neighbourhood can differ in catchment school, the walk to the stop and how close the main road is.
