Cheapest 2+kk rent within 20 minutes of the centre: Vítkovice (9 800 CZK), then Mariánské Hory and Bělský Les. In half of the neighbourhoods near the centre a 2+kk costs more than 11 200 CZK a month. 6 neighbourhoods from which Náměstí Republiky is at most 20 minutes away by public transport, by the Ministry of Finance rent price map.
How we calculate it
Neighbourhoods whose typical trip to the centre by public transport (to Náměstí Republiky, arriving between 7:30 and 8:30 by the ODIS timetables; the median of the neighbourhood’s addresses) takes at most 20 minutes, ranked by the monthly rent of a typical 2+kk flat (older than 5 years, unfurnished) from the Ministry of Finance rent price map. A neighbourhood 21 minutes out is not listed even when it is a little cheaper.
Without neighbourhoods with fewer than 2 000 residents: they are mostly fields or forest, and a handful of addresses would otherwise top every ranking. You’ll find them in the list of all neighbourhoods.
