In Poruba the register lists 36 GPs. 34 of the 36 places whose contracts we know have a contract with a health insurer: 33 with VZP, 33 with ČPZP and 17 with VoZP. 2 places have no contract with any of these three insurers: if you’re insured with one of them, you pay for the care there yourself. How do I register with a GP in Poruba?
Pick a practice with a contract with your health insurer and arrange it with them, best by phone. When they take you, the doctor fills in a registration form you sign. They may refuse you only for lawful reasons: taking you would exceed a reasonable workload (full capacity), you live too far away for home visits, or they have no contract with your insurer. They must give you the reason in writing.
How do I change my GP?
Your GP, paediatrician, dentist and gynaecologist (the “registering” doctors) can be changed once every 3 months under the public health insurance act. Just register with the new one; they ask the previous doctor for your records.
What if no GP in Poruba will take me?
Contact your health insurer: it must make insured care available within set travel and waiting times, and it will help you find a doctor who takes you. Also try practices a bit further from home.
