Living without a car in Brno
Brno has a dense tram network, but not every neighbourhood is equally well connected to it. Where you have public transport, shops and doctors within walking distance, and how you get home at night.
How we calculate it
For car-free living, the public transport trip to the centre and shops within walking distance count most, then, less, the journey home at night, doctors and restaurants. We calculate the trip for every address from the South Moravian integrated transport (IDS JMK) timetables: the walk to the stop, the wait and the ride to náměstí Svobody on a weekday morning.
