Bystrc

A neighbourhood on the Svratka below the dam of the Brněnská přehrada, with a large prefab housing estate, an old village core and the Brno zoo. The tram ends here and the way to the reservoir and the forests around it begins. It suits people who want a flat on an estate with the reservoir and the woods within reach.

Kníničky

A small neighbourhood right by the Brněnská přehrada. The original village was flooded by the reservoir in the 1930s and the new Kníničky grew up higher on the slope; today it is family houses with forests around. It suits people who want to live in a house by the water and in nature and don't mind the village character.

Which to choose

Look at the rows of the table that matter most to you:

  • You want to get to the centre quickly: the rows with the trip to the centre by day and at night.
  • You want shops and services around: the rows with shops and restaurants within 500 metres.
  • You want quiet and green space: the rows with noise, parks and green space, and the guide to Brno's green neighbourhoods.
  • You want a house: the guide to a family house on the edge of Brno.
  • You have children: the rows with schools and playgrounds, and the catchment school of the exact address.
  • Price decides: the first row of the comparison and the guide on how much rent costs in Brno.

Bystrc is compared with another large estate in the guide Líšeň or Bystrc.

Before you sign a lease, check the flat itself: two addresses in the same neighbourhood can differ in catchment school, the walk to the stop and how close the main road is.
