Off the lead or on the lead
Where a dog may run off the lead is set by a city of Brno ordinance. In designated dog parks it is always allowed; elsewhere, follow the signs: in many places dogs must be on a lead, and they are not allowed on playgrounds or in sandpits at all. Before you let your dog off in a park, check the sign at the entrance or the city's website.
What else you need
- A microchip. Every dog must be chipped.
- The dog fee is set by a city of Brno ordinance and paid according to the owner's permanent address; check the amount, reductions and how to register your dog at the city hall or your district office.
- Bags. You must clean up after your dog; bins with bags are usually by dog parks and in parks.
Where to live with a dog
A dog park is one thing, daily walks are another. Life with a dog is best where a park or woods are close and a dog park is a few minutes' walk away.
