How many secondary schools can a student apply to?

Up to three schools or programmes without a talent exam and two with one, ranked by priority. You apply online in the DiPSy system or on a paper form.

Is there an entrance exam for secondary school?

For most maturita courses, yes: the joint entrance exam in Czech and maths is set by Cermat (courses with a talent exam, such as conservatories, may not need it). Each school sets and publishes its other admission criteria in advance.
