Water hardness in Brno: where the softest water flows

The softest tap water: Kohoutovice (2.01 mmol/l), then Líšeň and Horní Heršpice. In half of the neighbourhoods the water is harder than 2.62 mmol/l. 36 neighbourhoods ranked by the water analyses at their addresses.

How we calculate it

Water hardness (calcium and magnesium, mmol/l) at the neighbourhood’s middle address from the latest analyses in its part of the water network; only neighbourhoods with at least 20 addresses. The steps of detergent packs: soft below 1.5 mmol/l, hard above 2.5 mmol/l.

Without neighbourhoods with fewer than 2 000 residents: they are mostly fields or forest, and a handful of addresses would otherwise top every ranking. You’ll find them in the list of all neighbourhoods.
