1220 One of Brno’s oldest buildings

St Giles’ church in Komárov was built in the late 12th century as the Romanesque church of a Benedictine monastery in the village then called Luh. By 1220 the Benedictines had added a residential tower, and after 1350 it got a Gothic choir. It is one of the oldest buildings in Brno still used for its purpose.
