Ostrava’s neighbourhoods with the most trees

The most trees are in Radvanice (53 % of the area under trees), then Slezská Ostrava and Petřkovice. The middle neighbourhood is at 24 %. The order of 24 neighbourhoods by the satellite land-cover map.

How we calculate it

The share of the neighbourhood’s area covered by tree and shrub canopy, from the Copernicus CLC+ satellite land-cover map at 10 m resolution (tree and shrub classes). The whole area counts, including forests, parks, gardens and street trees; meadows and fields do not.

Without neighbourhoods with fewer than 2 000 residents: they are mostly fields or forest, and a handful of addresses would otherwise top every ranking. You’ll find them in the list of all neighbourhoods.
