The quietest neighbourhoods of Ostrava

Fewest addresses with all-day traffic noise over 60 dB: Heřmanice (31 % noisy addresses), then Michálkovice and Petřkovice. In half of the neighbourhoods more than 57 % of addresses are noisy. 17 neighbourhoods ranked by the 2022 strategic noise map.

How we calculate it

The share of addresses in the neighbourhood where all-day traffic noise (Lden, evening and night weighted up) reaches 60 dB or more, from the 2022 strategic noise map (Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic). We measure at the loudest point within 20 m of the address, usually the street-facing façade; a flat facing the courtyard tends to be quieter.

Without neighbourhoods with fewer than 2 000 residents: they are mostly fields or forest, and a handful of addresses would otherwise top every ranking. You’ll find them in the list of all neighbourhoods.
