Frequently asked questions
Which town over 20,000 residents has the cheapest flats to buy?
Among the 61 towns compared, flats sell cheapest in Sokolov: 29,024 CZK/m². The most expensive is Hradec Králové: 69,154 CZK/m².
How is the ranking calculated?
We take the average purchase price of a flat per square metre from the purchase contracts entered in the land register over the last three years, as the Czech Statistical Office publishes it. The office gives it for the municipalities of an okres by size: for a town over 50,000 that is the only one in its okres it is the town’s own price, for smaller towns the average of the okres’s towns with 10,000 to 50,000 residents (so towns of one okres can share a price). We compare Czech towns over 20,000 residents on Městomat, without Prague, Brno and Ostrava, which have neighbourhood rankings of their own.
